Muhammad Aladdin
Muhammad Aladdin is an Egyptian novelist, short story writer, comics, and scriptwriter whose career has spanned for around twenty years. He's been one of the noted figures of Egyptian and Arab literature since his debut novel, The Gospel According to Adam, in 2006. He's "born a giant" as the famous Algerian novelist Wasseny Al A'araj called him once in an essay published in Al Quds Al Arabi, and He's one of "The most Prominent Writers in the New Millenium" as the prestigious Akhbar Al Adab listed him in its memorial issue in 2010, and he's one of "Six Egyptians Writers You Don't Know But You Should", The Millions' selection of six Egyptian writers in 2011.
Aladdin won The Egyptian Central Cultural Palaces Award for novelism in 2003 with his unpublished manuscript Al Dawa'er (The Circles), and The Sawiris Cultural Award for Best Short Story Collection in 2017.He has written several novels and collections of fiction; among the noted works are his first novel The Gospel According to Adam, The Idol, A Well-trained Story, Season of Migration to Arkadia, and his latest Al Al’araaf. He has contributed to several publications like the Egyptian leading newspaper Ash Shurouq, Lebanese a Nahar, The Dutch Radio's Arabic Service Huna Sawtak, and MTV’s Rebel Music.
