Only 12 columns and Aladdin was suspended along with the site manager who hired him, for what it appeared as security censorship in one of Egypt's worst times of dictatorship. Aladdin used his literary prose to harshly, yet with elegance, hammer the Egyptian dictator Sisi and the whole establishment of the Egyptian Modern State.

Aladdin has contributed to the famous London-based newspaper with three pieces focusing mainly on culture; some played the dangerous dance in between culture and politics.
The first, deal with hiring the new Egyptian minister of culture.
The second, deal with the delicate relationship between the writer and the dictator.
The third spoke about the fabulous, partly-forgotten, novel of the notable Egyptian novelist Muhammad Al Basatie.
